Shahid Miah, one of the most successful solicitors working at Nationwide DPP Law, has completed his volunteering stint in Bangladesh to help raise funds for people in turmoil. He is volunteering for SKT Welfare, a UK-based charity that delivers humanitarian aid to people living in poverty.
SKT Welfare was founded in 2008, and has assisted poor communities all over the world, including the UK, Pakistan, India, Morocco, Somalia, Palestine and Syria. The charity are now giving vital aid to refugees who have fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh, in the current humanitarian crisis.
The refugees have faced decades of discrimination and violence, as a muslim minority group in Myanmar. Shahid will be volunteering his time to provide these poor people with the assistance and welfare that they so desperately need. He is raising funds, and has a minimum target of £3000.
Managing Director at DPP Law, Stuart Nolan, commented, “The horror that has occurred in Myanmur has shocked the world, and we are appalled at the senseless atrocities that have been suffered by the people there.
“Shahid Miah is a well-respected member of the DPP Law team, and we are deeply in awe of his determination to help the refugees fleeing the country. We will be supporting his fundraising and hope other people can help him in whatever way they can.”
